Dr Steven Pretorius obtained the Dip Pharm qualification as a pharmacist with academic merits in Port Elizabeth in 1985. 


After serving two years as commissioned officer in the medical corps of the SANDF, he proceeded with his study of medicine, and obtained the MBChB degree with academic honors from the University of Stellenbosch in 1994.  


He has since been in private general practice, obtaining further qualifications in advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. 


In 2016 Dr Pretorius underwent training by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) in the evaluation of permanent impairment and disability, and he now specialises in all aspects of medicolegal cases involving medical negligence and the road accident fund. 


His services include independent assessments, comprehensive medicolegal reports, RAF1, RAF4, Narrative Tests and testimonies in court proceedings.
